This trip takes you to a very
remote part of Guyana most reasonable fit people
should manage it.
It is designed for those who
want a unique and rare glimpse at an ancient people
and their way of life.
The trips usually take place
October and December. You are asked to register
your interest, we will confirm with you when there
are the minimum numbers to make the trip viable.
If you have time after this trip
you could choose to relax on a Caribbean Island
or one of the more comfortable resorts in Guyana.
Those who get to go are privileged as there are
only three trips allowed each year, this is to minimise
the impact on the Wai Wai’s culture. Prospective
visitors may be interviewed for their suitability.
Protected by distance, the Wai Wai have maintained
their culture and ancient lifestyle. Craft skills
handed down from generation to generation produce
the most beautiful basketry, head dresses, bows
and arrows, flutes, drums, aprons and armbands.
These trips are sanctioned by
the Wai Wai themselves, they have chosen to let
us, in limited numbers, visit their lands to glimpse
at their way of life.
