any other tour!
The overland trip to Kaieteur Falls offers the
excitement of trekking and camping in the forest,
and amazing views of the Kaieteur Gorge.
4 days of trekking and an arduous climb up the
mountain is well rewarded by the first glimpse of
the falls.
The ascent to the top of the
mountain takes you through different ecosystems
and offers refreshing dips in streams cascading
down the mountainside. The tough trek is rewarded
by your first view of Kaieteur from an almost frontal
vantage at Johnson's View.
A little Golden frog unique only
to this eco-system lives it’s entire life in the
Giant Bromeliads.
Very few people get to stay at
the falls beyond dusk, it is at this time that thousands
of Swifts gather in the sky like dark clouds, then
plunge into the torrent of water to roost on the
rock face behind the falls.
